hey bro! i’m the music director of the Northern VA church. quick question. He Reigns. in E do you find that stylistically it’s too high for the sopranos? i was thinking of doing it in D for that reason. what do you think?

Hey bro, thanks for your message. The Newsboys “He Reigns” (the one that goes “all God’s children singing…) we do in the key of E, so the chords are D / A / E / E. It seems OK there for us – the highest note the melody hits is a D there. The other song called “He Reigns” we do is the Kirk Franklin one (that uses “Awesome God” for the chorus) – that one we do in Dmin (in case that’s the one you meant).

    Hi Brian,
I’m the Worship Coordinator for the OKC Church and was wondering if there is a teaching recording for Men Who Dream? It’s been awhile since we’ve sang it and I’ve got some new folks on my team. Btw…thank you for all of the tools/resources you put our there. I REALLY appreciate it! You have helped me more than you’ll ever know.

    YSIC,

    Tracy Rodney

Thanks for asking, Tracy. I don’t have one for that, but I will put it on my list to make one for that song. Thanks for the encouragement!

  3. Marty Udall says:

Hi Brian, I am the Evangelist for the Church in Halifax Nova Scotia. Love you music. We have a limited group in regards to playing instruments, I was wondering if any of your songs have minus 1 (instrumenals) we can play when singing these songs.
Look forward to hearing from you.

    • jbriancraig says:

I do have some instrumental mixes from some of the albums I’ve produced. I will see if I can get those posted and get back to you. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hey bro great meeting you and phenomenal job with the musical – it was so inspiring! As I texted Steve, I laughed, I cried, and I recommitted myself to Jesus. So great to see you using your talent for the Lord!

  5. Caronique says:

    Hey,

I notice that people can become really laxed with the service and the predictability of Sunday worship.
Our only way to combat this is sometimes having a “sermunion” (having the message then communion at the end after the message”

What other ways do you suggest we can help our congregation to fall in love with God through worship and realize its importance again?
